To the Corporate Geniuses at Adidas-USA;
I CANNOT even believe; after the millions, or billions of dollars, that Adidas has made off of American consumers (through American free enterprise) that you Ass-Clowns actually manufactured and tried to market the Marx-A-Flex hat with your logo on the back and the Hammer and Sickle logo of the Communist Party embroidered on the front. Do you have any idea how many friends I saw die when shot by weapons manufactured in Communist countries? Do you have any idea how many Communists tried to kill me and how many killed those friends? Do you have any idea how many veterans there are like me in this country and families of veterans? I called your consumer affairs line at 1 (800) 448-1796 and learned that you have pulled the hats. Whose idiot idea was this to begin with?
Your corporation became successful because of American capitalist principles and the freedom to practice them, guaranteed to you by the US military who fought against Communists for decades. I own 2 karate schools and am on the Colorado Governors Council for Physical Fitness (itself apolitical), but I am not. I also write editorials read all over the country. Just Google my name. I am telling anybody and everybody I know NOT to buy any products from Adidas and instead buy from Nike, Reebok, or New Balance. In fact, just because of this, I am going out this weekend and buy some new tennis shoes from one of your competitors and encourage my friends to do the same.
You better do a whole lot more than a cursory apology when people call in on your consumer affairs line and saying you pulled the product. You better run some “national” TV spots apologizing to this nation, and most especially apologizing to this nation’s veterans. You also need to fire whoever came up with such an idiotic lame brain idea to sell hats with a hammer and sickle embroidered on the front, as your rep said, “To honor former Communist countries like the Soviet Union.” They are “Former” because Communism sucks and does not work, (just like the Adidas marketing plan). I just threw my Adidas body shirt in the trash can, by the way.
The feel-good, Kool Aid drinking, politically-correct assault on my feelings, sensibilities, and rights has ended! Your action was the final straw that broke the camel’s back. (Now watch, I will have a lawsuit filed against me for racism because I used the word “camel” this country has gotten so blinded by naiveté). I am just getting started on this and am encouraging all my fellow veterans to boycott Adidas products, write letters to the editor in their papers, speak out on radio shows against Adidas, post this in blogs, and I am Blind Copying this to many so they can get the ball-rolling. I have had it! Just like the movie Network, “I am mad as hell and not going to take it any more.”
By the way, since you want to honor Communists, why don’t you move your entire operation, including retail outlets to China ? They are communists and have hundreds of millions more consumers than the USA . Move it all there and sell your sportswear and see where it gets you. See how many of your execs end up driving a Lexus and putting their kids in private schools. Why am I not shocked your corporate headquarters is in Oregon . . . you know, Berkley-North?
